MRS. JANE BANKER

Mrs. Jane Banker, widow of S. O. Banker, died at her home in Des Moines on Saturday evening, after a long and painful illness. The body was brought here Monday and funeral services conducted from the Baptist church and interment in the Winterset cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Banker moved from Ohio to Ohio township, this county, in 1880 and later moved to Winterset, where Mr. Banker died about four years ago. Two children, Mrs. D. F. Reed, of Truro, and John Banker, of Des Moines, survive the parents.

MRS. SELDON O. BANKER

The funeral services of Mrs. Seldon O. Banker were held in the Baptist church last Monday morning, March 29, Rev. Frederick Donovan officiating. An unusually large company were present, an evidence of the host of friends which her beautiful life had made for her wherever she had lived. Her death came at the close of a lingering illness of many months. Her body was brought from Des Moines and laid to rest in Rock City Cemetery.

Mrs. Banker's maiden name was Jane Welsh Barger. She was born in Harrison county, Ohio, Nov. 10, 1844, and died at Des Moines, Iowa, March 27, 1915. With her parents she moved to Guernsey county, Ohio, where she married Seldon O. Banker Oct. 3, 1886. Four children were born to them. In 1880 Mr. Banker brought his family to Madison county, Iowa.

Mr. Banker and two children, Mary Agnes and Victor Abram have been deceased for some years. Mrs. Banker is survived by her son, John L. Banker, her daughter, Mrs. D. F. Reed, five grand children, two sisters, Mrs. J. M. Bell, of Salem, Ohio and Mrs. John Worthing, of Truro. A brother, J. W. Barger of Little Rock, Ark., the widow of her son, Victor, besides a host of friends.

Mrs. Banker united with the Baptist church very early life, was always a valuable member of her denomination, and at the time of her death was a member of the First Baptist church of Des Moines. Mrs. Banker was also a loyal member of the W.R.C.
