Page 1Mrs. J. B. McKeever of Walnut township, died at the hospital this morning, following an operation on last Friday. She had been sick since June. Besides the husband, two daughters, Mrs. Merle Garland and Mrs. Harry Thomas, also two sons, Arlie and William, are left.
Funeral services will be held from the Church of Christ on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Moore, and burial in the Winterset cemetery.

Page 6Frances Ann Farmer was born in Poweshiek county, near Montezuma, July 2, 1864 to Silas F. and Jemima Farmer. At the time of her birth, her father lay wounded at Shenandoah Valley, during the civil war. She grew to womanhood on the farm where she was born and was married to J. R. McKeever, July 3, 1882 at Montezuma. To this union were born four children, all of whom are living, Oliver F. and Merle Garland of Barney, Will E. of Minnesota and Alice Thomas of Orient. She was a home loving woman, always devoted to her husband, children and home. In the spring of 1907 she moved to Madison county, where she has resided since.
She had been poorly since last June but only became bedfast the last few weeks. She departed this life Oct. 30, 1924 at the Winterset hospital where she was taken a few days before her death, aged 66 years, 3 months and 28 days. She leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband and children, one sister, Mrs. Alice Nicholson of New Sharon; two brothers: Irvin Farmer of Barnes City and Fred Farmer of Des Moines, 17 grandchildren and a host of friends.
