Page 2Isaac Newton, son of John and Nancy Dorrell, was born in Madison county, Iowa, Jan. 19, 1861 and died at the home of Gold Dorrell, Oct. 21, 1924. He was 63 years, 8 months and 23 days old.
Some 18 years ago, Mr. Dorrell was converted and united with the Christian Union church at Winterset, since which time he has lived his religion daily. A Hard working, upright Christian gentleman, he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He spent all of his life in Madison county, where he and his brother, Nicholas, farmed together. And since the death of the latter last December, he has divided his time among his nephews. A great lover of children, he was a welcome guest wherever he went.
Mr. Dorrell leaves to mourn his loss his sister, Miss Sallie Dorrell of Winterset; two half brothers, W. G. Dorrell of Winterset and George Head of Council Bluffs; a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
The funeral was held at the Church of Christ in Winterset on Oct. 23, conducted by N. D. Gordon of Indianola, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Baptist cemetery.
