Anna Belle Foster was born in Madison county, July 20, 1871 and died of pneumonia, at her home near Peru, July 15, 1924, at the age of 52 years, 11 months and 16 days. She lived with her parents until the age of 19, when she married John Allen, March 5, 1890, who preceded her in death on June 7, 1916. To this union were born six children: Loren, who died in infancy; Laura and Ivan, who passed away in December, 1918; Velma, Opal Cummins and Charlotte.

She was converted and joined the Elm Grove M. E. church at an early age and continued a faithful member until her death. She was a kind and loving mother, a good friend and neighbor.

She leaves to mourn her death, three children and six grandchildren: Neva, Doris and Robert Cummins, and Leo Emery and Hazel Davis, the latter having made their home with her since the death of their mother; one sister, Mrs. Lucinda Husted, and one brother, Thomas Foster, besides a host of relatives and friends.

Rev. C. K. Corkill of Elliot, conducted the funeral services at the Elm Grove church Thursday afternoon. Interment was made in the Sayre cemetery.
