MRS. FREDRICK YAHNE

Susannah Kimball was born in Carl county, Ohio, September 23, 1822 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. C. Howe of Truro, Iowa, January 13, 1915, age 92 years 3 months and 20 days. She was united in marriage to Fredrick Yahne in 1840. To this union seven children were born, three of them dying in infancy.

They moved to Indiana in 1845 where they made their home for twenty years. Mr. and Mrs. Yahne came to Iowa with their family in 1865 and settled on a farm near East Peru. On February 1st, 1885 death entered their home and bore away on its wings her beloved husband.

Grandma, as she was called, was a kind and loving mother, a friend to every one. She was a devoted Christian giving her heart and life to God in early childhood and becoming a member of the Methodist church in which for her faithful services in missionary work she had received a life membership certificate. In church service she labored with a high and holy goal. When time laid a halting finger on her womanly energy and she was called to bear the burdens of invalidism her spirit retained her elasticity. Shut in from the whirl of outside events, she has for many years been an inspiration to all who knew her.
