Clem R. Lull, 95, formerly of Holyoke died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, in Mercy Hospital and Health Care Center, Moose Lake.

He was born June 2, 1904, in Winterset, Iowa to Convers and Lillian (Martin) Lull. The family moved to the Holyoke area in 1906. He was raised in Holyoke and married Leona Werth on May 2, 1926. He owned and operated Holyoke Store in the 1940s and '50s. He worked as a logger, musician and for a variety of businesses.

Clem was a Boy Scout leader, a state of Minnesota fire foreman, a charter member of Carlton County Sportsman Club and an avid hunter and sportsman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Leona; a son, Gene; and a daughter, Eris Dobak.

He is survived by a son, Larry (Fern) Lull of South Range; a daughter, Jackie (Jim) Arney of Foster City, Calif.; a sister, Mattie Oltman of Fairfax, Va.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Wednesday with service at 2 p.m. Thursday in Nelson Funeral Care. Luncheon to follow. Interment service in Holyoke Cemetery. Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Care, 1004 Cloquet Ave.
