Mrs. Robert Herren, a lifetime resident of Madison county died on Feb. 25th at the home of her daughter in Collins, Mont. Mrs. Herren, who was 81 years old, was the widow of the late Robert Herron, one of the best known men in this county. She was an aunt of Clarence Macumber, his mother being the only surviving sister of Mrs. Herren. One daughter living in Canada and the one in Montana with whom Mrs. Herren had lived for two years are the other near relatives remaining.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Methodist church, burial taking place in Winterset cemetery.

Annie Church, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Church, was born in Warren, Trumbull county, Ohio, April 8, 1843 and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. H. Mayer in Collins, Mont., Feb. 25, 1923. Her early home was in Ohio, the family moving to Madison county, Iowa, in 1855. In 1866 occurred her marriage to George Cline. This union was only for a few brief years, Mr. Cline being taken by death’s call. Mrs. Cline was married to Joe Parkins in 1867, by whom was one son, Joe Parkins of Des Moines. On Dec. 24, 1874, she was married to Robert Herren, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Herren was the mother of four daughters and one son, one daughter, Catherine Cline passed away in infancy. Those living are Joe Parkins and Mrs. Nellie Carroll of Des Moines; Mrs. R. H. Mayer of Collins, Mont.; and Mrs. J. A. Ross of Chin, Canada.

Mrs. Herren’s heart was roomy and tender in its affections, as she capably and carefully mothered also the large family of her late husband. One sister, Mrs. L. N. Macumber of Winterset and four half brothers and one half sister live in Nebraska and Oklahoma. Three sisters and two brothers are among the deceased. Mrs. Herren was for many years a member of the M. E. church at Macksburg.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church on Thursday, conducted by Rev. D. J. Shenton; burial in the Winterset cemetery.
