Donald Raymond Ganoe, 63, of Odem, Texas, died at his home Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004.

Services were held Thursday, Oct. 28, at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson. Burial was in the Jefferson Cemetery.

Donald Ganoe was born March 14, 1941, in Jefferson, the son of Wiley Isaac Ganoe and Inez Rosamond Wolff Ganoe. He grew up in the Jefferson area and attended the Cooper schools. After graduation, he joined the military and served until he was honorably discharged. He moved back to Iowa and lived in Carroll and Scranton before moving to Jefferson. He worked as a mechanic. In 1980 he moved to Texas, where he continued working as a mechanic. He loved fishing, going to the dog track, and working.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters at birth; three half-sisters; and one half-brother.

He is survived by two sons, Dennis Ganoe of Newton and Danny Ganoe of Centerville; two daughters, Mary Danielson of Centerville and Beth Forst of Winterset; 14 grandchildren; and four brothers, Carl Ganoe of Pittsburgh, Pa., Harvey Ganoe of Jefferson, Earl Ganoe of Orange Grove, Texas and Loren Ganoe of Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be left at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson.
