Brought Here for Burial

The remains of Mrs. Jno. W. Young were brought here from Des Moines last Saturday for burial, accompanied by her son, Thos. Young, and daughter, Mrs. Lou Keefe. Mrs. Young was one of the pioneer settlers of this city, coming here in 1849 and has lived here continuously until about a year ago when she moved with her daughter to Des Moines.

She was a woman beloved by everybody who knew her and her many friends here extend their sympathy to the bereaved family. The funeral services were held in Des Moines and a short service was held here in the cemetery conducted by Rev. Corkey.

Catherine Shaw was born in Bourbon county, Kentucky, Oct. 4, 1826. She was married to John W. Young Dec. 23, 1849. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lou Keefe, in Des Moines, March 21, 1913. She leaves to mourn one daughter, Mrs. Lou Keefe, and one son, Thos. Young, both of Des Moines.
