Uncle Johnnie Cox, an old settler, died at four o’clock in the morning on the 28th at the home of his son-in-law, Joe Spurgeon. He was only sick a very short time. Funeral services will be held at the M.E. church, with burial in the Peru cemetery.

The funeral of John Cox, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Spurgin, early Monday morning, was preached by Rev. Brewer, on Tuesday afternoon, after which the body was laid to rest in the Peru cemetery, beside his wife who passed away a little more than a year ago.

Mr. Cox, the father of Mrs. Spurgen, died at his home in Clark county Monday morning. He will be buried by the side of his companion in Peru cemetery.
Funeral services will be held in the Methodist church in Peru. His companion preceded him less than a year. One by one they pass over.
