Dicy Coffee was born in Adair county, Kentucky, June 15, 1824 and departed this life May 12, 1912, aged 87 years, 10 months and 27 days. She was united in marriage to Milton Simpson, Dec. 20, 1842, who preceded her to the world beyond, June 24, 1878, aged 65 years, 9 months and 24 days. To this union were born nine children—six boys and three girls, five of whom have preceded her. The living are R. W. Simpson of Phillipsburg, Kans., Mary F. Breeding of Des Moines, W. E. Simpson of Winterset, and J. M. Simpson of Laclede, Mo. She had twenty eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was united in marriage to Elza Blair, Nov. 28, 1880, who preceded her to the world beyond, October 12, 1886. She has since lived a widow.

The funeral was held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Des Moines, and a service was at Patterson, conducted by Rev. Mille. Burial was made in the Patterson cemetery.

Patterson

Aunt Dicey Blair, formerly of this place, died last Sunday at 2:00 p.m., after a lingering illness of many months. The funeral services were held from the M.E. church Tuesday at 10 a.m., interment in Montpelier cemetery.
