Verba Olive Archer was born in Madison county, Iowa, April 14, 1880. She united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Truro, Iowa, when 15 years of age. In 1908, she transferred her church membership to the Baptist church at Delavan, Wis., of which church she was a member at the time of her death.

She was married to George F. Eichel in Clarke county, Iowa, Jan. 23, 1901. To this union was born two little girls, Maletha, age 8 and Opal age 6. She passed peacefully away to her heavenly home at Prairie City, Mo., at four o’clock, Nov. 7, 1911, after a lingering illness of typhoid fever at the age of 31 years, 6 months and 13 days.

She was a loving wife and mother, and was beloved by all who knew her, and had won a host of friends in this vicinity. She leaves her husband and little girls to mourn her death. Her father, mother, uncle and brother arrived from Iowa to pay a last tribute of respect to their beloved.
