Delliah A., daughter of James and Mary A. Babbitt, was born in Fulton county, Illinois, Feb. 1, 1840, and died at her home in Madison county, Iowa, Oct. 10, 1911, aged 71 years, 8 months and 9 days. She was married to Woods B. Callison, March 5, 1867. Seven children were born to this union: A. W., E. V., J. C., Nellie G. Seller, C. W., Mary and W. C., Mary dying in infancy. The husband, six children, 13 grandchildren, 3 brothers and three sisters survive her.

Her home was in the state of her birth, until March 1884, when she, with her husband, and six children moved to Madison county, where she has since resided on the farm where she died.

During her girlhood she was converted and joined the Church of Christ, with which se was affiliated until she moved to Iowa. At the organization of the New Hope class of the Church of Christ to Christian Union, in 188- she became a charter member, and remained a prayerful, active member until her death. Her life was beautiful, her ambition to make a happy home for her husband and children was realized. She rejoiced with her friends and neighbors in their happiness, and was ready to give a cheery word and helping hand to the needy; watched over the sick, cared for the dying, was interested in everything good and right. During her last sickness, of two years duration, she was an inspiration to all who visited her. Her shining face and consecration were a testimony of her close walk with God. She relied on His promises and said “I am ready and anxious to go.”

Funeral services were held at Union Chapel church, Oct. 13, 1911, in the presence of a large concourse of sympathizing friends and neighbors, conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis of the Winterset Church of Christ, interment in the Clark cemetery.
