Uncle John Priest, an old settler of Walnut township, passed away Saturday evening, after a long and trying illnesses, which he became almost helpless. He was cared for through these hours of suffering by his aged wife and his son, John and wife. Mrs. Flora Wright of Des Moines and two of Mr. Priest's nieces came out Saturday.

The funeral services for Uncle John Priest were conducted at home Monday morning, Rev. C. E. Harvey officiating. Interment was in Ebenezer cemetery.
