Page 1W. B. Daniel died yesterday forenoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Geo. Diggs, one mile north of Winterset. The deceased had been in failing health for some time, and became seriously ill about two weeks ago. He had lived in this county for over thirty years and was past seventy six years of age. He formerly resided near Patterson.
Funeral services will be held at Blair Chapel church at one o'clock Friday afternoon.

W. B. Daniel was born May 9, 1838 and passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1914 at 9:45 a.m. He was born in Park county, Indiana. He was united in marriage with Alice E. Farr, June 19, 1859, and came to Madison county, Iowa with his family in 1881, living in this county until 1907. He lived two years in Clarke county, then going to Gowrie to live with their son, J. M. Daniel, for five years. Last March they came to their daughter's Mrs. Ellen Diggs, and there remained until his death.
To this union was born twelve children, the widow and eleven children still surviving him. A daughter passed away at the age of 18 months in the year 1863, the other children are: Mrs. Mary Shepard, St. Joseph, Mo.; C. F. Daniel,Hebron, Iowa; Mrs. Eliza Diggs, Winterset, Iowa; W. A. Daniel, St. Charles, Iowa; J. M. Daniel, Gowrie, Iowa; Mrs. Ida Mitchell, Des Moines, Iowa; T. E. Daniel, Spencer, Iowa; Mrs. Sarah Cooper, Lorimor, Iowa; all of whom were present. Mrs. Rhoda Watt, B. F. Daniel of Akley, Minn.,and M. F. Daniel of Wathenn, Kansas, were unable to be present. The other that are left to mourn his loss are forty four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
He was a loving husband and father. His death had been expected for some time, having been stricken with paralysis on May 19th and suffering a second stroke on May 24th. He later gained strength and was able to be up and around the home until two weeks before his death.
He was a member of the United Brethren church, having given his heart to God at the age of 18, and has lived a faithful member since. Funeral services were held from Union Chapel Friday at one o'clock, conducted by Rev. F. L. Davis. Burial in the cemetery there.
