Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher McDonald of Jefferson township, are bereft of their youngest child, a little girl about two years old, whose death occurred on Friday of last week. Her death was caused from pneumonia, which seems to prevail in all parts of the county.

Transcriber’s note: With the following taken from the Madisonian the next week, all indications point to this being Roy McDonald above, according to cemetery records.

Obituary

Roy McDonald, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher McDonald, was born April 12, 1909. After an illness of two weeks with pneumonia, he departed this life to be with Jesus in that better home. There are left to mourn the loss, father, mother and three sisters. During his short stay here, (unreadable), he won a (unreadable) place in the heart of a large circle of friends. When we consider that life is not marked by figures on the dial we are (unreadable) in a few short months of his life than many of us whose (unreadable). A new link to bind us to heaven and a new incentive to love and serve Him, who knoweth all things best. On Jan. 14th the funeral was preached by Rev. V. T. Dugan of Winterset at the U. B. church and the remains placed in the McDonald cemetery.
