Page 1Death of FRANCIS BENNETT
Francis Bennett, an early resident of this county died Monday evening, June 29th, about 8:15. He was stricken with paralysis early Monday morning, and did not regain consciousness.
Mr. Bennett came to this county with his brothers in the early fifties, and settled on a farm in Madison township. He was the last of the Bennett Bros. A sister, Mrs. John Taylor, resides in Des Moines. He leaves one son and one daughter, Mrs. Birdie Martin of Pacific Junction who came yesterday.
The funeral services were held this forenoon and burial at Worthington cemetery.

Francis Bennett, one of the pioneer citizens of the county, died at the home of his nephew, L. M. Bennett on West Green street Monday night. Mr. Bennett was stricken with apoplexy while building a fire in the stove Monday morning and id not regain consciousness up to his death, which occurred the same evening.
He was the last of the well known Bennett men who lived in Madison township so many years. During the last years of his life Mr. Bennett has been in feeble health. Since the death of his wife, which occurred last summer, he has been making his home with relatives.
The funeral occurred Wednesday morning and interment in the Worthington cemetery.
