Obituary — Seth W. Barrows

Seth W. Barrows was born in DeKalb county, Ill., Dec. 10, 1834 and died in Madison county, Iowa, June 1, 1911, at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 21 days. At the age of two years, he moved with his parents to Missouri, where he resided until he was 17 years old, when he came with his parents to Madison county, where he has since resided.

On April 25, 1861, he was united in marriage to Martha Ferrall. To this union were born five children, three sons and two daughters, all of whom are living today, except one son who died in infancy.

He was converted when 20 years of age, and united with the Christian church of which denomination he was a member until his death. He was of a cheerful disposition, always ready to sympathize with those who were in trouble.

He leaves an aged wife, two sons, two daughters, 12 grand children, two great grandchildren and three aged sisters to mourn his departure. He had been a resident of this community for more than sixty years, therefore leaves many friends and neighbors who sympathize with the family in their bereavement.
