Archie Witt, a native of Madison County and longtime resident of the Lorimor and Creston areas, died at the Crest Haven Nursing Home in Creston on Sunday, February 9, 1975. He was 85 years of age.
Mr. Witt was born in Madison County on November l6, 1889, the son of Otho and Mary Johnston Witt. He was married to Opal Chenoweth at Winterset on December 24, 1919.
A retired farmer, Mr. Witt was a veteran of World War I. He was a lifetime member of the V.FW.
Survivors include a son, Russell Witt of Lorimor, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Ora Witt of Macksburg, and a sister, Mrs. Allie (Letha) Pindell of Creston.
Mr. Witt was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, at the First United Methodist Church in Macksburg, with the Rev. Charles White officiating. Burial, with military graveside services, was in the Moon Cemetery near Macksburg.
