Rites Held for VIRGIL D. HOWARD

Funeral services were held at Harrison, Neb. On Tuesday February 4 for Virgil D. Howard, a Madison County native. Mr. Howard died February 1, 1975, at the age of 67 years.

Born in Madison County on September 30, 1907, Virgil David Howard was raised in Adair County. He graduated from Richland High School.

Mr. Howard was married to Marie C. Saylor of Des Moines on August 27, 1927. He and his wife moved to Harrison, Neb. In 1929, where he worked as a farmer and rancher, as a surveyor for the AAA, and as a rural mail carrier.

He was a member of the Harrisons Memorial United Methodist Church..

Survivors include his wife, Marie, and a son, Leonard Howard of Fergus Falls, Minn. Also surviving are a brother, Leslie, of Crawford, Neb.; and two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Lucille) Engebretsen and Mrs. Harold (Ellen) Skavdahl, both of Harrison, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and an infant daughter.

Memorials were given to the Sioux County Ambulance Fund, the Harrison Methodist Church, the Alliance Boys' Ranch Home and the Sioux County Heart Fund.
