Emma Slate was born in Hardin county, Iowa, Sept. 30, 1856, and departed this life Jan. 5, 1911, aged 54 years, 3 months and 5 days. The deceased was married to Henry Wier, March 28, 1875. To this union were born three children, one son and two daughters, all of whom survive her and with the husband are left to mourn her loss.
She was converted in 1886 and united with the Friends church and has lived a consistent, Christian life and died trusting in Christ. She had suffered for two years with Bright’s disease and longed for the master to call her home.
The funeral was conducted by Mrs. Hunt of Iowa Falls at the Fellowship Congregational church in Monroe township and interment was made in the cemetery at that place.
Note: Burial was made in the Hamblin cemetery.
