Anna Dorrell was born in Madison county, Iowa, Dec. 15, 1849, and departed this life at her home in Lorimor, Iowa, June 10, 1910, at the age of 60 years, 5 months and 25 days.
She was united in marriage to Jos. Kirk, Feb. 21, 1869; to this union was born six children, two of them preceeding her to the better world, Clyde C. and an infant. Those left to mourn their loss are the husband, J. E. Kirk of Lorimor, Iowa, F. E. Kirk of Lorimor, Iowa, Mrs. Emma Foster of Winterset, Iowa, Mrs. Cora Emerson of Northfleet, Texas, brothers and sisters, and a host of friends and relatives.
She was converted when 18 years old in the old Olive Branch school house under the labors of Rev. K. D. Wolf, and united with the church and lived a faithful, devoted Christian, always ready to confess her Master; her desire was to honor God and do good in the world.
“Farewell Mother, we shall miss you for a little while, then we will meet you on the other sore where we will never part again.”
“May the Lord bless the bereaved husband and children, and may we all live to meet her on the other side where sickness, sorrow or death never comes.”
The funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Peru M. E. church, conducted by Rev. W. W. Williams, in the presence of a large audience, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Peru cemetery.

East PeruThe funeral of Mrs. Joe Kirk, of Lorimor, was held from the M. E. church Sunday, June 12, at 2 o’clock, Rev. Williams officiating. Interment was made in the Peru cemetery.
