Obituary

John Earl Young was born in Madison county, Iowa, October 2, 1893, and died March 21, 1910, age 16 years, 5 months and 19 days. He was the son of Wm. C. and Nancy J. Young. Was converted and united with the United Brethren Church in childhood renewed his covenant with the Lord about six weeks ago. He leaves to mourn him besides his parents, one brother and three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Cox, Mrs. Bessie Grout, Ralph and Gladys Young, all of Beresford, South Dakota, his grandfather, J. R. Davis, and grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Young, of this place. Also his uncles and aunts and a host of friends who all loved him. Earl was a dutiful son, an affectionate brother. He made many friends in his new home to which he went two years ago.

The remains were brought here and the funeral services were held at the home of J. R. Davis, last Friday conducted by the Rev. Dugan, of the U. P. Church.

Earl Young

John Earl Young, son of W. C. and Nancy J. Young, was born October 2d, 1893, in Madison county, Iowa, and died March 21, 1910 in South Dakota, near the town of Beresford, being 16 years, 5 months in 19 days old, was converted in childhood and united with the United Brethren church. About six weeks ago he renewed his covenant with his Savior, at a meeting at Beresford, S. D.

He leaves to mourn his loss, besides his father and mother, one brother and three sisters: Mrs. Nellie Cox, Mrs. Bessie Grout, Ralph and Gladys Young and his grandfather, J. R. Davis and grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Young and a host of friends besides his uncles and aunts. Earl was a dutiful son, and affectionate brother, and the loved by all who knew him.

His remains were brought here for burial Friday morning, March 25. Funeral services were held at the home of his grandfather, J. R. Davis, conducted by Rev. T. V. Dugan at 2 o’clock p. m. on the same day. The remains were laid to rest in the Winterset cemetery.
