Services Held For Lee Cox

R. Lee Cox, 75 formerly of Winterset and Ogden, Utah, died Tuesday, Jan 25, 1972, in a Long Beach, Calif. Hospital, following surgery.

Mr. Cox was born in Madison County on Nov. 11, 1896, the son of Charles A. and Lenora Etter Cox.

He was raised and educated in Madison County and was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Winterset.

On March 6, 1918, he was united in marriage to Nora Ellen Leach. One daughter, Mildred, was born to this union. Mrs. Cox died on Dec. 4, 1948.

Mr. Cox farmed in Iowa until moving to Utah in 1950, settling in Ogden. He was employed at Hill Air Force Base until retiring.

On Aug. 15, 1950, he was married to Bessie Allen Singleton, she died on May 2, 1971.

After Mrs. Cox’s death, he moved to Norwalk to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. C. B. Mills.

Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Mills, two step-sons, Carl A. Singleton and Kent A. Singleton both of Ogden, one step-daughter, Mrs. Darrel (Merlene) Gilbert of Slaterville, 5 grandchildren and two brothers, Oscar Cox of Macksburg and Wallace Cox of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 29, at the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary in Ogden, Utah, with Bishop Mark A. Nielson of the Roy Utah 15th Ward officiating. Burial was in the Aultorest Memorial Park, with Mr. Hollis V. Allen making the dedicatory prayer.
