A lifetime resident of Madison County, Mrs. Bertha M. Leasman, died Sunday, December 21, 1975 at Villa West Care Center in Winterset. She was 91 years of age.
The daughter of James Ackelson and Josie James, Mrs. Leasman was born December 28, 1883 in Winterset. She was married to Ilot Leasman on December 27, 1911 in Winterset.
A housewife throughout her life, Mrs. Leasman was affiliated with the Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and four brothers.
Surviving Mrs. Leasman is a daughter, Velma Fisher, of Lorimor, two grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Pearl Rankin of Mitchellville, Millie Downs of Winterset, and Madaline Fogle of Des Moines; and three brothers, Emery Ackelson of Ackeny, Harold Ackelson and Ilot Ackelson, both of Des Moines.
Funeral services for Bertha M. Leasman were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 1975 from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Rev. Eldon E. Jandebeur presiding.
Burial was made in the Barney Cemetery in Madison County.
