Sarah Jane Hagen, 69, of the 4200 block of High Street in West Des Moines died of an aortic aneurysm Wednesday at Mercy Medical Center. Services will be at West Des Moines Christian Church, with burial at St. Charles Cemetery in St. Charles.
Mrs. Hagen was born in St. Marys and had lived in West Des Moines most of her life. She co-owned and operated Wayne's Auto Service with her husband and was a member of the Eastern Star Valley Junction Chapter, Daughters of the Nile and Des Moines Racing association. She enjoyed family photography, fishing, camping and racing.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; two sons, Doug of West Des Moines and Dave of Windsor Heights; four sisters, Freda King of Prole, Darlene Williams of West Des Moines, Jan Gamble of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Evelyn Miller of Norwalk; a brother, Jerry Miller of West Des Moines; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. today at Brooks Funeral Care, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Crippled Children's Burn Center.
