St. Charles

Mrs. Nannie Elizabeth Tincher died at 1 o’clock Friday afternoon, Aug. 6th with perpetual convulsions. She was born in Metcalf County, Kentucky, March 30, 1867, and was the oldest daughter of Seldon and Ann Durham. She came to Madison County when 3 years old and has lived since in this and Warren counties with the exception of four years near Avoca, Ia.

She was married to William A. Tincher Feb. 14, 1890 by Rev. S. W. Lee. Her husband, W. A. Tincher, Frank Tincher, Ralph LaVerne Tincher and an infant son are left to mourn.

She was converted and joined the Baptist church at Patterson at the age of 14, when she was married she united with the Methodist church with her husband at St. Charles. She was also a member and senior vice-president of the W.R.C. Her life in the home and in the church was ever cheerful, helpful and an inspiration to others. The sympathy of the whole community goes out unrestrained to the sorrowing family.

Rev. Armstrong had charge of the funeral services assisted by Rev. Lee, of Wick, a life long friend of the family. The interment was made in the St. Charles cemetery Saturday afternoon.
