Daniel Vancil was born in Illinois, 1846, and died June 18, 1914, age 68 years. He was married to Rosena Rosendinger. His wife died in September, 1904, since which time he has made the county farm his home.
He was a member of the Christian church of Winterset, loved his bible, and his devotion consisted in bible reading and singing.
He leaves one brother, but his residence is unknown. Short funeral services were held at the home by Rev. L. F. Davis. Interment was in Rock City cemetery.
