FRANK BLACK DIED THURSDAY

Frank Black, a life-time resident of the St. Charles community, died Saturday Nov. 16 at a nursing home in Winterset. He was 75 years of age.

Mr. Black was born at St. Charles July 21, 1893, a son of Alex and Bessie Colley Black. During his active years he engaged in farming. He attended the St. Charles Methodist church.

He was married in 1913 at St Charles to Edna Hart. She preceded him in death in 1936. His second marriage in 1943, was to Laura Brandt, who survives him.

He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Brandt of Winterset, a son, Kenneth Black of Las Vegas, Nev.; two stepchildren, Donal Brandt of Des Moines and Mrs. Nadine Wemott of Cincinnati, O., one grandchild, six step grandchildren and two great grandchildren, in addition to a brother, Fred Black of St. Charles, and a sister, Mrs. J. M. Torrence of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the St. Charles Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Walter A. Samp of Winterset. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
