The remains of Mrs. Catharine Schermerhorn were brought here from Des Moines Monday and were interred in the Rock City Cemetery. Mrs. Schermerhorn was a sister of Mrs. S. B. Cherry and at one time lived in Winterset. Her husband died about four years ago in Council Bluffs, since which time she has made her home in Des Moines.

Page 5The body of Mrs. J. C. Shermerhorn was brought from Des Moines on Monday, and interment made in the Winterset cemetery. Short services were conducted at the grave by Rev. J. S. Corkey. Mrs. Schermerhorn at one time, resided here. Deceased was past eighty years of age and was a sister of Mrs. Cherry of this place. Her husband died several years ago in Council Bluffs and was buried here.
The body was accompanied by Mrs. Kirkwood, a niece of the deceased and Will Wilson, whose wife is a niece of the deceased, both parties of Des Moines. Mrs. Schermerhorn was making her home with her niece, Mrs. Kirkwood, at the time of her death.
