Darrell L. Long, Sr. - A resident of Denham Springs, he died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at his home. He was 68 and a native of Truro, Iowa. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation at Freedom Baptist Church, Pitkin, from noon until service at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial in Occupy No. 1, Pitkin.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Willis Long of Denham Springs; a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell Jr. and Darlene Long of Denham Springs; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Charles Harrah of Primm Springs, Tenn.; a son and daughter-in-law, Dannie and Madelyn Long of Denham Springs; four sisters, Delores Crebassa, Des Moines, Iowa, Donna Rubendall, New Virginia, Iowa, Wanita Hill, Fairfield, Iowa, and Mary Childers, California; eight grandchildren, Samantha Glascock, Jeremie Long, James Long, Edward Long, Michael Harrah, Amanda Long, Chad Harrah and Daniel Long; and a great-grandchild, Travis Glascock.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Long; mother, Marie Long; a brother, Merrill Long; and a grandson, James David Long. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 8200 Hampson St., Suite 425, New Orleans, LA 70118.
