Survivors: nephews, Dr. Marvin Reed, Oak Hill, Va., Robert Frazee, Summerfield, Kan.; nieces, Carolyn Kindrick, Wichita, Kan., Carol Lantz, Lincoln, Mary Ann Koch, Sabetha, Kan.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Wherry Brothers Mortuary, Pawnee City. Summerfield Cemetery, Summerfield, Kan. Visitation: 2-8 p.m. today, mortuary.

SUMMERFIELD --- Helen Lucinda Reed, 95, formerly of Summerfield, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at a Pawnee City, Neb., nursing home.

She was born Nov. 24, 1906, in Winterset, Iowa, to Wilbur and Margaret McDonald Reed. She spent her early life southwest of Summerfield in Marshall County and graduated from Summerfield High School in 1925. She was a housekeeper for several years before she moved to Maquoketa, Iowa, where she was employed as a store clerk.

Miss Reed returned to Summerfield, where she was a clerk at the Tice Drug Store for several years. She moved to Pawnee City, Neb., where she was employed by Colwell Drug Store and Pete's Pharmacy before she retired.

Survivors include two nephews, Dr. Marvin Reed, Oak Hall, Va., and Robert Frazee, Summerfield; and three nieces, Carolyn Kindrick, Wichita, Carol Lantz, Lincoln, Neb., and Mary Ann Koch, Sabetha.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wherry Brothers Mortuary in Pawnee City. Burial will be in Summerfield Cemetery. Miss Reed will lie in state from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
