Kenneth M. Leech who spent his early life in Winterset and graduated from Winterset high school with the class of 1925, died last week at Columbus, Ind., where he had served 25 years as an industrial engineer. Death resulted from a cerebral hemorrhage. He was 56 years of age.
Mr. Leech was born at Red Oak, March 27,1908, a son of Benoni and Lora Meyers Leech, but the family moved to Winterset when he was a small child, and his early life was spent in this community. He graduated in engineering from Iowa State University at Ames.
He was a registered mechanical electrical and civil engineer. He belonged to the Institute for Electrical Electronics engineers, and National and Indiana Societies of Professional Engineers, the United Presbyterian church, the Masonic lodge, and Scottish Rite.
He was married in 1935 to Velma Lowary, who survives him. He also leaves a son, Capt. Robert L. Leech of West Lafayette, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. William Albright of St. Louis, Mo.; and two grandchildren. A brother, Lieut, Robert Leech, was killed during World War II in the crash of the military plane he was piloting.
Funeral services and burial were held at Columbus.
