Obituary

Mary A. McArthur was born in Canada, Oct. 10, 1838, where she lived until 1851, when she came to Johnson county, Iowa, where she was united in marriage to James G. Huss in 1859, who died June 14, 1906. To this union were born ten children all of whom, excepting two, still survive her.

In 1867 she moved to Madison county where she resided until the time of her death.

When she was a young woman she united with the United Brethren church of Solon, Iowa. Later she joined the Church of Christ in Christian Union of Winterset. Here she remained a faithful member until the time of her death.

She was a kind and indulgent mother, a good neighbor and will be missed in the homes of her children, where she has made her home since the death of her husband.

The funeral services were held at the Christian church Tuesday, conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. E. Bennett, after which the body was laid to rest in the Hooten cemetery.
