Death of C. H. McBride

C. H. McBride, one of the pioneers of Madison township, died last Thursday at Mehan, Oklahoma.

Mr. McBride came to Iowa at an early date and settled first in Davis county. In 1863 he removed to this county, and remained until 1890, when he removed to Oklahoma.

He was 75 years old, in comparatively good health till a few days before his death.

The McBride family was widely known throughout the county, both on account of his individual worth and connections. Mr. --- of this city and Mr. McBride were brothers-in-law, having married sisters. Mrs. T. C. Gilpin is a sister of the deceased, Mrs. A. L. Stern - a daughter and B. F. McBride, of Madison township is a son.

The funeral was held at Stillwater, Oklahoma and the burial was in a cemetery at that place.

Death of an old Resident

Mr. Chas. McBride, a former resident of this county, died at his home at Stillwater, Okla., the first of the present week at the age of 78 years. For many years he was a resident of Madison county, being one of the prosperous and influential farmers of Madison township. He was well known here by the older members of the community as a man of upright character and the highest integrity. He was the brother of Mrs. T. C. Gilpin, and the father of Mrs. A. L. Stout, both of Winterset.
