Monday, January 16, 1967, page 3Ross J. Cowden, 65, 1525 S. Second St. died Friday night in the Lebanon Community Hospital after an extended illness.
Mr. Cowden was born Aug. 19, 1901 in Winterset, Iowa. He married Ideline Mowen Feb. 24, 1925 in Wessington Springs, S.D. who survives.
He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The couple moved to Lebanon in 1947 from Washington where they had lived since coming from South Dakota in 1941.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by daughter, Mrs. Beverly Brown, Lebanon; a son, Clayton Cowden, Los Altos, Calif.; a brother, Hoyt Cowden, Eugene, and seven grandchildren.
Services were held at 1p.m. today at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Reehl officiating. Burial followed in the IOOF Cemetery.
