Death of F. H. Evans

Frank H. Evans, for many years a resident of this city, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anna Hulbert, at Osceola on Tuesday. The remains reached here today and were taken to the Presbyterian church where, at 2 o’clock p.m., services were held, conducted by Dr. Ely, of Des Moines, the deceased’s old pastor, after which they were laid to rest beside his wife, who died several years ago. Mr. Evans was a veteran of the civil war and a member of Pitzer Post G.A.R. which order participated in his burial. He was Justice of the Peace in Winterset for several years. He was a man of the strictest honor and integrity, fully trusted and respected by all who knew him and an exemplary citizen in every way.

He is survived by four daughters and one son, Mr. Chas. Evans and Mrs. Maggie Granthum, of Roachdale, Ind.; Mrs. Anna Hulbert, Miss Carrie Evans and Mrs. Grace Walkup, of Osceola. All were present at the funeral excepting Mrs. Walkup, who was prevented by sickness.

Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
