Alvin Pinckney, one of the best known farmers and respected citizens of Grand River twp., passed away on Tuesday February 26th after a short illness from a complications of ailments.

Thursday, March 21, 1907Alvin A. Pinckney, oldest son of Joseph and Mary Pinckney, was born in Henry Co., Ill., Jan 26, 1853, and died at his home in Madison Co., Feb. 26, 1907, aged 54 years.
He was married to Ellen C. Proctor, Sept. 27, 1875. To them were born 1 son, Lawrence, and 2 daughters, Julia and Rosilla.
For the past 37 years his home has been in this neighborhood.

A. A. Pinckney, one of the leading and influential farmers Grand River township, died at his home Tuesday noon from a complication of diseases after an illness of about a month.
Mr. Pinckney was about fifty-five years of age and is counted an old settler of Madison County. He came here with his parents in 1869, located in Grand River township and has lived there ever since. He was one of the staunch and reliable men of the township and will be greatly missed in his neighborhood and among his acquaintances.
The funeral occurred today the remains were interred in the Macksburg cemetery.
