February 1915Lourena Olson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Olson, of near Truro died of the dread disease consumption last Monday. The funeral services were held here in the M. E. church last Wednesday afternoon. On account of the sickness in the home of Rev. Piper, the services were conducted by J. G. Vannatta and the remains were laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery.

Page 5Lourena Olsen was born in Madison county, Iowa, December 5, 1896, and died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Olsen, near Truro, Iowa, February 1, 1915, age 18 years, 1 month and 25 days.
She spent her entire life in Madison county. She was a very bright and industrious student of the Winterset high school, being in her junior year when taken ill.
She leaves to mourn her loss a father, mother, two sisters, one brother and a host of relatives and friends.
