Grandma Koon, widow of the late Geo. Koon, died Saturday, Feb. 9th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. H. Stone of this city.
The deceased was 83 years old and a citizen of this county for the past forty-two years. She was a woman of most lovable character and will be mourned by many true friends.
The funeral was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. H. Stone, on Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock conducted by Rev. Trueblood and interment made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mary Ann Shannon was born in Huntington county, Pa., March 14th, 1824, and died, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Stone in this city February 9th, at 5:15 p. m.
She was married to George Koon January 30th, 1844, and to this union were born ten children. They moved to Winterset in 1864, where she lived until death called her. She was a faithful member of the Baptist Church and was dearly "beloved" by all who knew her.
The funeral occurred from the house Monday, Feb. 11th, at 3 p. m., conducted by Rev. C. E. Trueblood, and she was laid to rest in the Rock City cemetery.
