Ilene L. Lindsey, daughter of Lyle Raymond and Bertha Faye Schaff, was born July 18, 1935, in Peru, IA, and died February 26, 2009, surrounded by family and friends at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, IA.

Ilene married Carey L. Lindsey, Sr. of Des Moines on March 23, 1953.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bud Schaff and Dick Schaff; sisters, Lois Irene Flowers and Joy C. Hodges; and a son, Dennis Paul Lindsey.

Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her husband, Carey L. Lindsey, Sr., of Story City; sons, Carey L. Lindsey, II (Jennifer), of Roland, Rocky L. Lindsey, of Des Moines; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Glenn Schaff, of Osceola; sisters, Betty Simpson (Max), of Bushnell, FL, Eva Doran (Denny), of Osceola; sister-in-law, Shelley Schaff, of Osceola; extended special family, Dr. Rebecca F. Woods, William R. Woods, Allison Woods Bailey (Jason), all of Ames; along with many family and a host of friends.

Memorial services will be held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola on Wednesday at 2 p.m..

Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Carey Lindsey, Sr.
