Donald Glen Rush, 83 of Spirit Lake Iowa passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at his home in Des Moines.

Donald will be cremated and a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Donald was born July 21, 1926 to Charles Orson and Maggie May Rush at home in Winterset, Iowa. He was married to Ardyce Lavon Mills on October 2, 1949, and they were married for 60 years. Donald retired from Northwestern Bell/US West after 37 years. He then worked for several years at Iowa Network Services. After Donald's retirement he and Ardyce enjoyed traveling and spending time working on their homes in Spirit Lake, Arnolds Park, IA and Gold Canyon, AZ. Donald was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake.

His parents and his four brothers, Robert, Guy, Carl and Russell, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Ardyce Rush of Des Moines; daughter, Barbara Bonestroo of Orlando FL; son, Richard (Sue) Rush of Ankeny; and daughter Terri (Steve) Boers of Ankeny; sister, Leota Meyers of Lincoln NE; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brent) Heitzner of Atlanta GA, Brenda Rush of Minneapolis, MN, Michael (Kari) Bonestroo of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Christopher Rush of Minneapolis, MN.
