Mr. Lindquist’s funeral was preached at the Blue Front church last Thursday morning by Rev. Dorrell. He was laid to rest in the Clark cemetery.

Page 1Chas. J. Lindquist was born in Sweden, Dec. 27, 1859, departed this life Jan. 21, 1908, aged 48 years, and 25 days. His death was caused from cancer of stomach from which he had been a great sufferer for several months. He with his parents, came to this country in 1864. He was married to Miss Mary Olson, of Harcourt, Iowa, Oct. ---- where they lived until they came to Madison county in the spring of 1904, during which time he has gained many friends. He leaves a wife, and the number of brothers and sisters are unknown. The funeral was held today at Union Chapel and the remains laid to rest in the Clark cemetery.

Charles J. Lindquist was born in Sweden, December 27, 1859. With his parents, two sisters and two brothers he came to America when five years of age. They settled in Illinois, where they lived three years before moving to Iowa.
When a baby he was baptized into the Swedish Lutheran church and continued a member throughout his life.
October 8, 1899, he was united in marriage with Mary Olsen at Harcourt, Iowa, where they resided until the spring of 1904, when they moved to the present home south of Winterset.
Charley is known to his neighbors as a man of honor and industry, respected for his sterling worth as a citizen and always ready to help in time of need. He was a thoughtful and kind husband, loving his home and family and ever mindful of his duties as a Christian.
After an illness of several months, at no time during which his faith in God falter, he died January 21, 19 away, happy in the thought that he was going home to Jesus.
The funeral was held at the Blue Front church Thursday morning, conducted by Rev. A. F. Darrell, in the presence of a large crowd of sympathizing friends and relatives, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Clark cemetery.
