SHIRLEY BOOE, WINTERSET

Shirley Wagoner Booe, 81, died Feb. 7, 2010, at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be directed to Middle River Hospice of Winterset.

Shirley Booe was born March 31, 1928, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Homer and Lucille (Lacey) Pinyerd. She married Lowell Wagoner and moved to Iowa in the 1940s — living in Perry, Adel and later Des Moines. She later married John Holtz and after his death, married Bernard Booe. Shirley later moved to Branson, Mo., where she lived for many years. She had recently moved to Winterset to be near her family. Aside from being a homemaker, Shirley was a talented seamstress working out of her home and, for a time, assisted in sewing costumes for shows in Branson.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Holtz and Bernard Booe; a daughter, Linda McCann; and a sister, Sharon Stone.

She is survived by one son, Jeff Wagoner of Winterset; a brother, Arlen Pinyerd of California; and four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, John Holtz and Bernard Booe; a daughter, Linda McCann; and a sister, Sharon Stone.
