Page 4Dennis Jackson Killed In Crash
Dennis L. Jackson of Dalton, Ga., who was born near Winterset and spent his early life here, was killed last Thursday, Sept. 7, in a car-truck crash on a highway near Dawsonville, Ga.
Mr. Jackson was as insurance salesman, and had lived in Virginia and Georgia since leaving Winterset.
A son of John R. and Ruth Holiday Jackson, he was born near Winterset July 19, 1944 and live in this community the first 19 years of his life.
He was a graduate of Winterset High school, and attended Drake University in Des Moines for a year. He was a member of the Methodist church.
He is survived by his father and mother, John R Jackson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla, and Mrs. Merle Libby of Des Moines; three brothers, John Nelson Jackson of Ft. Lauderdale, Jeron Jackson of New Paris, Oh, and Mark Jackson of Ft Lauderdale; his grandfather, Ben Holiday of Winterset; his grandmother, Mrs. Cora Brown.
Funeral services were held here Monday from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Newton Coughenhour, pastor of the First United Methodist church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
