Hold Rites for Bill Hern, 58
Funeral services were held here last Friday for William E. (Bill) Hern, Jr., who died Monday, January 20 at Mexicali, Mexico. He was 58 years of age.
William Earnest Hern, Jr. was born in Winterset on July 22, 1916, the son of William E. and Mary Ellen Young Hern.
Mr. Hern was employed as a truck driver.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Ronald Dorrell and Mrs. Clyde Hendricks of Winterset, and three brothers, Ralph Hern of Winterset, Jack Hern of Gilbertville and Charles Hern of Indianola.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his parents.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 24th at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with the Rev. Eldon E. Jandebeur officiating. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
