Last Saturday morning occurred the funeral of Mrs. Thos. Young, of Ohio township. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Rarick, of the M. E. church at St. Charles, after which the remains were laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery.

Page 9, Column 3Martha Ellen Bartrug was born in West Virginia, October 26, 1859 and died at her home near Truro, Iowa, June 16, 1905, aged 45 years, eight months and 20 days.
In 1876 she moved to Madison county, Iowa, with her parents. She was married to Thomas J. Young, June 17, 1883. To this union seven children were born, six of whom, with the husband, survive her. The children are Mrs. Ida Haller, of Thayer, Iowa; Nettie, Nora, Bert, Mary and the infant daughter, aged three weeks.
During her illness she united with the M. E. church.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Rarick in the M. E. church at St. Charles, Saturday, June 17 and the remains laid to rest in the St. Charles Cemetery. We extend our sympathy to the family in their bereavement.

Page 4, column 3Mrs. Tom Young died at her home northeast of town, Friday, June 16, after several weeks illness. She leaves a husband and seven children, the youngest being but three weeks old. The funeral was held at the M. E. church at St. Charles, conducted by Rev. Rarick and burial took place in the St. Charles cemetery.
