After many months of suffering Mrs. Myrtle E. Nichols died at her home Friday evening at 8:20 o’clock. The end had been anticipated for several weeks. All Thursday night and all day Friday it was almost momentarily expected, it being only a question of how long the final breath of life would last. Her friends and loved ones were gathered about her bedside and saw her pure spirit take its flight, and as she lay in a seemingly peaceful state could see the love of ecstasy of the blessed assurance of an eternal life beyond the shores of time that she gave as she resigned her pure young heart into the keeping of her Heavenly Father.

Myrtle E. Cateron was born September 26, 1882, near Freemont, Dodge county, Nebraska, and died at her home in Earlham, Iowa, February 3, 1905, aged 22 years, 7 months and 7 days. She was united in marriage to Thomas Nicholls in the year 1899. Of this union was born three daughters, Hazel, Maude and Esther, all of whom survive her and left to mourn a good and kind mother. Two brothers Fred and Ernest Cateron and three sisters Mrs. Elmer Clanton, Mrs. Eli Armbreast, both of Winterset, and Ether Cateron. The funeral service was held Sunday at 11 o’clock at the M.E. Church, conducted by Rev. Vorhees and interment was in the Earlham cemetery. She was very patient and hopeful through all her suffering and had a cheerful word for every one. God knows best and there is a better future for God’s beloved in His own Better Land.
