Retired Farmer Died Last Saturday at Age of 69 years
Guy W. Strable of St. Charles died Saturday, Aug. 22 at his home there. He was 69 years of age.
Mr. Strable was born in Hancock county, but had lived practically all his life in and near St. Charles, in Madison and Warren counties. His active life was spent in farming, but he had been retired in recent years. He was a member of the St. Charles Methodist church.
Mr. Strable was married July 1, 1914 at Carlisle, to Opal Fleming, who survives him. He also leaves five children; Myron Strable of El Sobrante, Calif., Guy of St. Joseph, Mo, Mrs. Garnetta Boughton of Booneville and George and Harrison Strable of Des Moines. There are also 18 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Roth of St. Charles and Mrs. Bertha Stroud of Martensdale; four brothers, Earnest and Raymond Strable of St. Charles, Carl Strable of Prole, and Vernon Strable of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the St. Charles Methodist church in charge of the Rev. Eldon Hayworth. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
