Betty J. Richardson, 85, of Winterset died Dec. 24, 2009, at Winterset Care Center North. Private services have been held.
Betty Richardson was born Dec. 18, 1924, in Ft. Des Moines, Iowa, to Asa Richardson and Irene Bunch. She was raised in Ft. Des Moines until joining the Women’s Army Air Corps during World War II. After her military service, Betty had been a quality control manager for Litton. She moved to Madison County on April 15, 2000. Betty belonged to the American Legion, V.F.W., and the Women’s Army Corps Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Buddy Gill and Raymond Gill; and sisters, Anzenta “Peggy” Reaves and Alice Evans.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail “Mitzi” Abel of Peru.
